Hotel Quinta Karla

We were looking for a calm cosy place near the ocean and we found this cute family run hotel restaurant in Pie de la cuesta. The golden sandy beach which belongs to Hotel Quinta Karla is always well maintained and you can see the most beautiful sunset there while having a mouth-watering seafood dinner served on the beach. Senora Karla and Fredo are always smiley and helpful to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. If you are looking for a place to relax in a hammock listening to the waves of the ocean and slurping freshly cut coconut and switching off the world, you found it!

Do not stay here. It took us 2 hours to get here from the airport. The taxi driver laughed when we gave him the address. Cost us 500 pesos for the taxi to get here. The room has no air conditioner and the shower had no shower head and there was zero water pressure. There is NO restaurant. You can't swim in the ocean because it is too rough the currents too strong. Stray dogs are everywhere. What else? Trash everywhere. The photos are COMPLETELY inaccurate. No "wedding area" and no lounging on the beach and I repeat - there is NO restaurant. We were able to get a few beers and coffee in the morning but not until after 9. This was such a disappointment. I hope my review saves any other traveler from making the mistake I did. Stay in a resort near the airport with air conditioning, room service, swimming, a restaurant, comfortable beds, other people, music, no dogs, no trash...

The staff is super friendly, nice atmosphere and if you taste the breakfast, it's the best way how to start a day. Really good restaurant. The most important thing: the people. They are just really great here.
