Los Tules Resort

Los Tules Puerto Vallarta March 2 - 9, 2024 No my first time staying here though it w my husband's. The grounds are quite large. Age and a lack of upkeep are evident. Check in is easy, though not so friendly. They immediately try to rope you into a timeshare breakfast, not for us thanks. No they are not letting you in early and no they are not giving you the keys early. Feel free to go have a lunch at their restaurant though. We did an the food as decent, we had hamburgers and fries. No raves on service or food though. At the allotted time they gave us the keys and surprise, unlike our request or other stays we literally had no view, the road was our view. At last we could see our car! we had a first floor unit, yes ground level right on road entering resort. Oh well, we made the best of it. The one bedroom unit as clean and had two bathrooms, a plus for us. It was also very spacious with tons of closet space, which would be great if you were renting long term. There were lots of towels as well. Everything was very basic and dated but fine for a week. The bedroom was large with a king bed and an individual bed in the same room. The bathrooms were basic but had all newly wall mounted soap & shampoo containers with big fines as noted on signs on container for removing! The kitchen was tiny and not well arranged. Not an issue if you are eating out a lot and not cooking in but we did choose to cook quite a bit. It was possible, but not as convenient as some places. The kitchen, dining room and living room were one room. The TV was fine, 4 seater table as well but the couch was so uncomfortable. We had a small patio outside our unit which was nice other than the view to the road and everyone passing by from reception. There are something like 7 pools and none have umbrellas. Shade is hard too find here, so hanging by pools was not convenient for us. Many pools had no service at all. We had a nice time overall despite my getting a serious respiratory infection. I did utilize a doc in a box at Farmacia Similares, which was a first and saved us a ton of money, The dr, visit is free with a donation and you just buy meds there. The dr. was very thorough and prescribed what my dr at home suggested, via a message, along with two other drugs. If I had gone to the hospital the dr. said they likely would have admitted me, so money saved and I recovered just fine. Thankfully the AC worked well as I spent about 3 days in bed. We would return again for a very basic, no expectations, place to hang our hat and go out mostly. No more than 2 stars her
