Royal Decameron Complex

On this occasion, the hotel left a lot to be desired, starting with the reception service; checking into the hotel was very, very slow, we went with a group and it took them hours to give us the bracelet, the water they offered for hydration was hot, it could not be drunk. Once in the facilities, speaking of the food, it was something very disappointing, it is bad, salty, always every day and at all hours it was the same, there was no variety of food and besides, the waiters act like you are asking them for something for free or that it comes out of their own pocket, bad-faced all the time in the restaurants and in the bars, not all, but the majority. The alcoholic beverages, not to mention, all of the cheapest kind there is, the prepared drinks were thrown together, very bad and loaded with too much alcohol, undrinkable, 2 bars closed, there are no snacks anymore. The hotel seemed to be overbooked, very, very full of people; when you went to eat or to the bar, there were eternal lines to get a drink, you would spend up to 20 minutes in line; it was truly a bad experience that several of us who went to the hotel this time shared. I have known the hotel for 15 years or more and this has been the worst of all.

The resort has 6 complexes that each have a pool and bar. Building 5 and 6 are the farthest from beach. Upon arrival room was clean, 1 ltr of bottle water waiting, Ac worked great, and bed was very comfy with 4 pillows. Our room was able to feel like a cooler when you entered after a hot day outside. Water replaced each day. Our maid was amazing who gave us towel animals each day. At end we had many towels to use. Ate at buffett outside Building 4 and had many options for any type of foodie you are. Never would go hungry 😋 and after 7 days we were not sick of buffett food. Went to Jap Jap and Italian restaurants which were both delicious. Just note the Italian also is Mexican and only restaurant that is air conditioned. All other dinning is open air with fans. There is a smaller buffett for breakfast and dinner by block 5 and another bigger buffet by block 2. There is a snack bar during day by block 2. We did not go as buffett was suffice for us. Drinks were great never had issues as use bagged ice thats delivered daily. Pop was poured from bottles and always had water stations with ice to fill bottles or cup. The beach bar had amazing bartenders who remembered your order and you did not go thirsty. Any staff we encountered was friendly. Block 5 pool the quiet adults pool which is nice. Beware iguanas roam around and may swim in pool at times. They do close after to clean. Each night pools cleaned and maintained for next day Towel stations are open 9am to 5pm daily which you can exchange daily. Block 1 and 4 pools often packed loud and crowded with people who play their own music. Many traveler's we met are repeat guests. We heard bad and good however for the price point we paid and what we received it's now high on our list to return. Resort close to walk to market and stores if you like. Felt safe and even taxi stand a few feet from front parking lot. Overall upon our return home we definitely missed being at the resort and already planning when to go again. Don't let the bad reviews scare you... go to form your own review and experience.

Pleasant, good for resting and good activities; all the shows were spectacular. They should keep the pool table and the foosball tables in the disco in good condition and working order.
