Casa de la Loma

Very nice hotel, loved the views, good treatment from the staff, excellent location, if I recommend it!!

Simply outstanding. We've been travelling 40 years, stayed in $300 and $3 hotels, and Casa De La Loma is one of the best values. Booked two standard room nights, then immediately booked two more once spending a night here. What makes it so great? 1) the elegance of an older hotel; 2) the view and ambience from our large vine-covered balcony; 3) the hotel's attention to detail: everything I needed and wanted had been provided; and 4) the location's proximity to shops, restaurants and nice walks, yet much quieter than El Centro.

Pillows like concrete blocks. This is a fatal flaw for any hotel in my estimation. I gave the place three stars because otherwise it's a nice hotel, and great for the money. Big rooms, comfy baths. Good and lovely restaurant. There was a huge jacuzzi in my room although I did not use it. It was so large I think it would have taken hours to fill, so I just took a shower. Perhaps not all rooms have pillows like concrete blocks, but mine sure did, all three of them on the king bed. Lying on your back, your head will be cocked down 45 degrees. You won't be looking at the ceiling. Lying on your side, your head will be cocked to the side 45 degrees. Yes, the pillows are not just hard but large, high. Who in the world would buy such things for either a home or a hotel?
