Hotel Estefania

Two friends and I stayed at the Hotel Estefania this month. The price was great, the rooms were small but immaculately clean. The whole hotel was clean, the staff was efficient and helpful. In the morning there was a charming little room off the lobby filled with coffee, tea, cereals and other things, all free. It was a 10-minute walk to the center of town. We were all pleased with the accomodations. I highly recommend this budget hotel in Morelia.

enjoyed my 5 nights at Hotel Estefania in the charming city of Morelia, Michoacán. A family owned small hotel who made my stay very pleasant. I would describe it simple accommodation but pleasant nonetheless. It's In the city center but about a 15 minute walk or more to the Cathedral but that walking was fine for me. The Aqueduct is closer (5 minutes) and the park and restaurants on it are pretty cool.

To be honest, I chose this hotel because of the bargain price and the hotel's location. I didn't realize that it would offer so much more! For starters: free Wifi, cable TV that actually works!, free breakfast (coffee available any time between 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM). My room was spotless, and indeed the whole building is immaculately maintained. But the best part is the staff. They did everything for me! They gave me directions; advice on where to eat, shop and visit; they printed my boarding pass; they called my taxi to the airport and confirmed it. I wanted very much to go on an excursion to Uruapan, Paricutin, Edgar Ruiz National Park, or Los Azufres. I had four or five brochures, from various agencies. Most required a minimum of three passengers; one required two. The receptionist called each agency for me, but it was the off-season and there wasn't a single other person in the city of Morelia who wanted to go an excursion. At length, the receptionist said she'd been wanting to go to Los Azufres for a long time, but hadn't had anyone to go with. If I could wait until Thursday, her day off, she'd go with me. Can you believe it?! When have you ever heard of a hotel where the staff would go out of their way for a guest to that degree?? She and I did go to Los Azufres together. It was fascinating and beautiful, and we had so much fun. I will happily stay at Hotel Estefania the next time I'm in Morelia, and I recommend it to business travelers, vacationers, and families.
