Booked via Wyndham for 900 pesos a night for 3 nights.
Arrived at around 2PM and was provided room on 2nd floor. Please note there is a service elevator but you will have to go up a few stairs to first floor..its a bit slow...i used the stairs during my stay.
The room is old and a bit in need of TLC. Queen bed was decent but lumpy pillows. Smart TV , however, the Netflix and Amazon were still logged in from previous guests. Clean bathroom with older towels, limited amenities, decent water pressure. But it also needs a renovation.
No breakfast proved, but they have a bufet on premise for 250 pesos (it looked good but preferred getting stuff from Oxxo a few blocks down)...Great location, 10 minutes from cathedral and they do arrange for tours with a local company (do the Janitzio tour, its great).

They claim to have parking and there's never a place, they send you to a boarding house and they don't have a place either, the watchman keeps places.
The room cards are disabled, we occupy two rooms and the two are disabled.
Dirty percussed towels, rusty bath tub and broken plastic tub top.
Stained walls, door with knocks.
Ceiling of the ceiling bathroom where you can see the outside of the hotel which represents a security issue.
It is understood that for the price you can not expect much but with the minimum cleaning and fulfillment of the services they offer (parking in this case).

This hotel had its good times, perhaps before the pandemic!
It has an excellent location, but its maintenance is terrible...
I don't understand how the Howard Johnson network allows them to have it like this...
I booked because it was from this chain, believing in its support and the photos that speak of a totally different hotel... I'll tell you my experience...
Very run down hotel, my friend and I, each with a different room, received the same thing I'm telling you...
The pillows look like corrugated cardboard made into balls!! They give you about 8 small square pillows in the KS but none of them are good, they all seem to be made of "Hard Wadding"; The sheets and towels are old and worn, the mattress is so old that they put a foam rubber plate on top to make it more comfortable, you sleep and wake up with back pain.
Only the rooms on the 1st floor look "nicer" with laminate flooring, those on the 2nd floor don't accept them, they have 25-year-old carpets!!!
I spoke 3 times before arriving to ask if there was an elevator, yes they have one! but to get to the elevator, you have to climb stairs like 15, to the 2nd floor or go down to the 1st floor using stairs with 6 steps, the hotel does not have service for wheelchairs, nor people with canes who have difficulty going up or down. It only has a ramp at the main entrance, no more. I had to carry my suitcase with a lot of work, no ramp, to get to the elevator, just as old and battered as the hotel.
The windows were left the oldest and rustiest one that doesn't fit and then an aluminum one, in front to "avoid noise from the street" doesn't insulate anything! Motorcycles pass by, ambulances, people leaving the club, so if you want to rest, this hotel is not the one!!!
The service of the staff is very attentive, like the one who works in the restaurant in the mornings. Their "chef" doesn't know what it means to cook well, they don't even know how to make fried eggs!! His letter is good but the execution is terrible. The same at the reception, not a smile, all serious and bad-faced.
The description says it has room service! Be careful, it's a lie! They don't have enough staff! The same one who charged me at the register, took the orangeades in her hand, without ice, to the garden, which is the only well-maintained thing in the entire hotel!!! I wanted to order a coffee for my room, the phone was all old and I couldn't hear anything, they told me there is no room service...
If you don't have more budget to pay for a better hotel, I understand it, but for what they charge, there are much better hotels, with better facilities and services; I was guided by the super photos! with those they sell you on the platforms, this hotel, but be careful!! They were done by someone very professional but what do you think, they are fixed!!! or maybe they are from before the pandemic; Here I add the ones from the royal dining room and the reception chair; and the garden umbrellas so you can see the lack of maintenance....
We regret not having seen more and looking for other options for the same price, then in Morelia, we went to see other nearby hotels and if there is a big difference in maintenance. I recommend that you check beforehand!!!
Happy Holidays!!
