Hotel Rincon de Josefa

I reserved with this property six months in advance of my stay. Out of an abundance of caution I confirmed more than sixty days in advance. They summarily canceled my reservation and did not honor it. Unfortunately my reservation was at a very busy time and I was unable to find anything comparable.

Pretty, clean and economic. Cable did not work, but very quiet. Nice people at desk. Location is excellent. Try to get on the second floor. Look at the room first before agreeing to book. Lovely decoration and very nice bath.

This little gem of a hotel is located on Iturbe No.29 between the two main plazas in the centro of Patzcuaro. We happened to walk past it looking for a place to stay and were attracted by the beautiful, lush courtyard. There are many rooms to chose from, so check out a few before making a decision. The hotel is spotless, beds and pillows are comfortable. We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday in March 2013 and paid 460 Pesos for one of the smaller rooms with a queen size bed. King size are approx. 540 Pesos. Some rooms are dark without windows, others have doors/windows that open to the courtyard. I loved all the plants in the courtyard - it gives it a very tropical feel. Parking is included and is located at a different hotel about two blocks away in a parking garage. There is a small restaurant within the hotel but we didn't eat there.
