Rating for the hotel and restaurant The service was terrible. From the room, I tried to contact reception three times within 15 minutes and they never answered; curiously, when I called from my cell phone, they did respond. I requested an iron because there was none in the room, and after an hour, they never brought it; I had to go down personally to ask for it. In the restaurant, the experience was equally bad: I ordered a rib eye, and what they served was not even close to grilled meat. Additionally, I ordered a side dish, and they brought a different one.

I chose this hotel for its location during the Tecate Pa’l Norte festival, paying over $2,200 CAD for a 5-night stay. For that price, I expected a seamless, high-end experience. Instead, I felt completely ripped off by a series of oversights that made my stay more of a chore than a comfort. The Room: Form over Function The issues started immediately. The bathroom products were all sealed so tightly I nearly tore my pinky knuckle trying to open the pumps—a pain that lasted days. When I called the front desk for help, no one ever showed up. To make matters worse, the shower was stocked with two shampoos but no soap or conditioner. The cleanliness was also a major red flag. When I dropped something and looked under the bed, it was filled with dust bunnies. For a premium rate, finding a lack of basic housekeeping is a slap in the face. The Environment: A Battle for Comfort The air conditioning had a mind of its own. No matter how many times I set it to a comfortable 22°C, it would reset itself to a freezing 17°C. I ended up needing an extra blanket just to survive the night, which the staff would fold away every morning, forcing me to remake my "survival bed" every night when I returned exhausted from the festival. Add to that the parasitic light leaking through the door frame that illuminated the whole room at night, and rest became nearly impossible. Service and Value The "amenities" were equally frustrating. I received one bottle of water upon arrival, which was never replenished. At this price point, daily water should be a given. Furthermore, I was told about breakfast times at check-in but never informed it wasn't included. I ended up paying $20 CAD for some soup and fruit when I was feeling ill—a meal that definitely wasn't worth the "surprise" bill. Location While "strategically located," the hotel offers nothing to the neighborhood. It’s not walkable, and it’s not connected to the subway line, leaving you stranded unless you rely on Ubers. Verdict: While the staff were personally nice, the value simply wasn't there. If you are looking for a place that respects your investment and your comfort, look elsewhere. I would not recommend this stay. When you're coming back from a massive event like Pa'l Norte, you're physically spent and just want a sanctuary. To have to fight your own room for a warm temperature or a bar of soap is the last thing you need.

If you are looking for a hotel well, located beds, comfortable, pressure, shower, hot and cold water, a very good air conditioning cleaning in the room. This is one of the best options I have ever experienced for this type of trip
