Good afternoon. On this occasion, I must issue a warning to all those who intend to travel to Oaxaca and stay at this hotel. I mention the "warning" because on June 11, 2026, my sister-in-law stayed (or attempted to stay) at this hotel; when she received a call on her cell phone originating from the reception of Hotel Trébol. In that call, a man told my sister-in-law that a "checkpoint" was currently being conducted at the hotel to "detect any irregularities in any of the rooms." That it was not necessary to open the doors when someone knocked; that it was only necessary to answer a few questions. Subsequently, the first person who called my sister-in-law began to ramble and transferred the call to another person who reaffirmed what the first person said but added that if necessary, they should enter the room to confirm that the information being provided (by my sister-in-law) such as the number of people, origin, purpose of the trip, among other things, was true. That they were part of a "group" that was "protecting" them and that they should not be afraid. Obviously, my sister-in-law and the people with her contacted the reception (a woman) from the room phone to inform her of what had happened, who commented that she would get in touch with the hotel owner to inform him of what had occurred. My sister-in-law chose to leave the hotel and return to her place of origin. I must mention that they had not been at the hotel for even 24 hours and they preferred to leave and return to their place of origin. There was no response from the hotel owner.

We’ve been staying in this hotel multiple times. The service, location, cleanliness it’s always beyond standards. Unfortunately this time ever since we arrived we hadn’t had hot water and the drain system in my room is clogged. I’d like to come back here but management have to fix this water problem.

I stayed at Hotel Trébol during my trip to Oaxaca, and overall it was a good experience with a few things to keep in mind. Pros: The rooms were spotless! Housekeeping came every day and did a fantastic job keeping everything clean. The location couldn’t be better, just steps from the city center and surrounded by great restaurants, cafés, and shops. Super convenient for exploring. Cons: The shower was a challenge, the water was either scorching hot or freezing cold, no in between. When I mentioned it to the front desk, they said the bathrooms are going to be remodeled soon, but for now, you just have to keep adjusting the knobs until you find a balance (which isn’t easy!). Also, every single thing lights, TV, A/C had its own power switch on top of the main power switch, so it took a bit to figure out how to get everything working. The breakfast area was really small, and there was usually a wait for a table, which wasn’t great if you’re trying to head out early. Other notes: There’s no elevator, so be ready to climb a few flights of stairs. The staff was polite and available, but not very engaging, they helped when asked, but didn’t go out of their way to offer suggestions or chat. All in all, Hotel Trébol is a clean, comfortable, and well-located hotel that’s great for a short stay, especially if you don’t mind a few quirks.
