A pleasant experience, better than it seemed on the hotel website. Comfortable room and good value for money. The best staff attention and bread that is made here. A little removed from the center, I recommend car. The rooms that do not face the street very quiet but depends as in all hotels, at least in Mexico, on the education and tranquility of the guests who occupy the next rooms. 99.9% recommended.

During my stay at Casa Bonita Oaxaca I suffered a theft of $22,500 pesos stolen inside the safe of my room, a space that is supposed to exist precisely to protect valuable belongings and provide peace of mind to the guest. Upon further investigation on TripAdvisor, I confirmed with great concern that this is not the first time other guests have reported similar thefts. Most alarming is not only the incident, but the hotel’s systematic response to such situations. Instead of collaborating, clarifying the facts or showing willingness to review security cameras and internal protocols, the administration debunks guests’ testimony, calls the reports “slanderous” and suggests that they are extortion attempts. This stance is offensive and completely inappropriate towards people who relied on property security. No one leaves their belongings in a safe waiting to have to defend their honesty afterwards. The basic function of a hotel is to provide security and backup, and in this case they failed not only to prevent the incident, but also in the way they handle it. I share this experience so that other travelers can make an informed decision and to record that the lack of action and the attitude of the hotel to these events generates a great distrust. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel until there is responsible, transparent and respectful handling of its guests.

Casa Bonita is a very nice property located in a very quiet area of Oaxaca, San Felipe del Agua. Overall the service is very good without getting to spotless, but it is quite functional and comfortable. My only objections are that the staff does not know much about the facilities offered by the hotel and depending on the person you ask the answer will be different. I do not recommend it if your visit will focus on visiting the attractions and restaurants of downtown Oaxaca because it is very far away (4.5km, 25 minutes by taxi) and there is not enough public transport. Requesting a taxi can take between 15 and 45 minutes. Free shuttle service to the center is available, which can keep you waiting between 15 minutes and 2 hours. And even arriving by car, it is difficult to visit the center and find a place to park. Additionally, their website information is already outdated, they offer a Lobby Center service, which sounds very attractive as it is the possibility to have a resting point directly in the center, but this is no longer operating, and the staff does not even know that they offer it, you literally have to show them your own website to find out.
