The glory and the story around this gorgeous old hotel is unrivaled. It was a convent in the 16th century, later a jail, and even a hostel at one point. With old world rounded half-doors, wide hallways and an authentic restaurant within the hotel, this stay could be a fantastic experience. However, the idea that there are English-speaking employees is false. I found only one employee who spoke fluent English. Also, beware: this hotel has no heat. While this is normally not a problem, this January has been unseasonably cold at night, leaving me shivering under the covers! Finally, if they try to put you in room 101 you should complain! It's under the stairs, dark and damp.
