Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal

The hotel is awesome the people working there always helpful and the food was very good. My only disappointment was how far the hotel is from the airport but the concept of the hotel is awesome because you can visit the other hotels around in bahia principe

An amazing experience on our second trip to Mexico and Bahia Príncipe Akumal. I don’t have enough words to say thanks to the amazing staff from quest experience starting with the one and only Miguel , best entertainment experience with Ramon… Because of them we have a great time on an amazing resort!

Fantastic 2 week holiday with a large group of family and friends, at Bahía Príncipe Explore Akumal and it’s somewhere we would definitely return to. The rooms were modern and recently renovated and cleaned every day and left absolutely spotless. Plenty to do thanks to the great entertainment team (Ramon and Ritchie were standouts). Something for everyone from the lively first pool, quieter second and adults only infinity pool. Food in all à la carte restaurants was absolutely spot on (portion sizes are slightly small but in the Italian we could order starters, pasta, pizza and dessert) The buffet is great with lots of choice, breakfast was a particular favourite from our group (the lady on the omelette station is a star). Beers on draft and mixers go flat very quick but we found this to be a wider thing across Mexico and cans/bottles avoid this. (Or cocktails!) For the à la carte restaurants all I would say is 10 days prior to arrival make sure that you book them all in as it can be very difficult to book whilst here. Waiters, bar staff, cleaners and the entertainment team genuinely can’t do enough for you! Renovation work has 0 impact on the stay as it’s at a section away from everything else on the resort. You can only see the work from the infinity pool but there is no noise. The gym has also recently been renovated, although not a full spec gym it’s a level above other smaller hotel gyms. (Treadmills, rowers, barbells, incline press, lat pull down, pec and delt fly as well as dumbbells, benches and a multi purpose fitness area) The negative reviews have left us genuinely confused as between a group of 10 of us we have all had a great stay!
