El Cozumeleno Beach Resort

WOW! This little gem of a resort met all of our needs. Firstly, the ocean was crystal clear and abundant with reef life. Beach front sandy and easy to enter , swim and relax. Excellent snorkelling. Smaller area with loungers and overhead grass umbrellas at beachront. Definitely a small, quiet, older resort with a lot of charm! We booked on the low season for a first time and will most definitely book again. Excellent staff and service! The rooms were very spacious and clean. We requested a 5th floor, all rooms are oceanview and spacious and have balaconies. Everthing was in good working order, the only thing was our bed was uncomfortable, so we requested a foam on top, and that was taken care of immediately. Location 10 minutes from the airport, so short transfer to resort. You will need to take a taxi into town, we paid $12US dollars one way. There are a few local restaurants within walking distance, but we chose to stay and dine at the resort. The food was pretty good and delicious! We ate in the EL LA CARTE Restaurant each evening, absolutley amazing and beautiful presentation and options!!! Service was excellent.** Men must wear long pants and dress shirt, ladies to wear dress and sandals. So pack these clothes. There is a large covered beach dining building with slight breeze on the coean front, breakfast and lunch and snacks served here. Waiters will take your order from a menu. Same food fare each day but great variety. I loved the fresh made smoothies at the bar each morning before 11 am. Their green juice and hibiscus juice was so delicious, no sugars all natural. the pools were awesome for such a small resort, we loved the waterfall pool area to cool off and get out of the direst sun. There is a pool bar hut area and kiddie pool area with small overhead umbrellas sprinkler, we just lounged in this kiddie pool. There was no entertainment whatsoever, but likley because it was low season. We had a free snorkel tour with resort guide, this is a must do!!! Bring your own snorkel and mask and fins, they do have some available there, but you will want to do this over and over again. Tips fully accepted. We will most definitely be returning to this amazing high quality for your value lovely gem of a resort!!!
