The room we had was great. The hotel grounds leave nothing to complain about, and the amenities were well thought out.
The food is the shortcoming at the Royal Haciendas. The way the food is served in the buffet contaminates otherwise edible food. We have allergies (causes physical symptoms when exposed) to pork/shellfish and could not eat many items that were served in the same steam container with those items for example potatoes, chicken/beef dishes and other vegetables. I spoke to a general manager by the name of Israel on the second day of our weeklong stay, about this matter and was told that the food service manager would contact us to try to address our concerns. I was not contacted by the food service manager at all. The last 2 days of our stay the food service staff did make some adjustments and prepared some of our food separately. The solutions I would suggest is to not contaminate food by cooking or preparing on the same surfaces in the cooking area. Secondly not to put two different foods in the same steam container and thirdly to ensure staff follow up on customer concerns immediately.
