Encanto El Faro Luxury Ocean Front Condo-Hotel

El Faro is a block from the loudest night club in town, which blasted music until the wee hours in the morning. We had to sleep with the windows closed. The living room area of our unit was more narrow than other condos we have rented. The beach is suffering tremendous erosion and when we were there no beach existed by El Faro - the ocean was coming all the way up to the pool and there was no beach access.

El Faro is in the best location of Playa Del Carmen. Hundreds of restaurants and 4 large grocery stores all within a 5 second to 10 minute walk. It's right on the beach, so is perfect for those beachwalks to Playacar and back. All of the condos are individually owned and managed, so some are spectacular and others are neglected. The neglected ones are not El Faros fault as they cannot force individual owners to a high standard inside the condos. The common areas are professionally groomed, all trash bins are emptied numerous times in the day, and the front desk and security staff are all happy to help you. The pool is massive, clean, and much more than anyone can possibly expect. Your best chance at a great condo at the best price is to book with Silvia and Eber at Deam Zone Travel Mexico. They manage many of the condos at El Faro and as a result, know most units extremely well. They are located in Playa Del Carmen and have a website that can be found by searching dreamzonetravelmexico. One last thing...the beach is hit and miss...sometimes you have beach out front and sometimes you lose most of it due to storms or general erosion. Sargassum is worse between April and September and it can be nasty!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at El Faro. This place is perfect. It is a very quick walk to 5th Avenue. Like the very next block. You would think that would make it noisy at the condo but it is not at all. The grounds are kept so clean and security is tight. Both times I’ve stayed here we’ve rented the ground floor. I recommend trying to rent on the ground floor.
