City Express Durango

The check-in went without a hitch as staff was friendly. However, this was short lived as my room was very small, two plastic chairs, one with a broken armrest and both faded from the sun. The pillows felt like they were filled with pieces of sponges. There were no drawers to places clothes in. For this purpose all my clothing stayed in my suitcase but was able to hang a couple of shirts. The TV did not work well, the air conditioner worked too well that at times it was too cold and unable to warm the room. The breakfast was good however, at time there were no attendants to clean the tables or to restock some of the food. Butter was available only one day of the 12 days I was there. It was located too far from downtown you either had to take the local bus or a taxi. The ice maker was broken half of the time I was there and to top it off the room did not have a microwave or a refrigerator.

Not a good representation for the Marriott chain. If you stay 4 days you have to pay daily. Maybe common in Mexico but not international. Breakfast: Cutlery is plastic Cups and plates are made out of a kind of paper. Only a few options. Stay worthy only when you need nights for Bonvoy program.

If this app had the option for half a star I would. So we booked a online reservation thinking that they have updated their rooms we are fully paid it says no refunds not thinking that it was gonna be a problem then we get to the hotel with two of my kids in the backseat thinking that they’re gonna finally rest their feet after a long trip and I get to the counter and they said to me “Sorry Ma’am we have no more rooms” now there wouldn’t be a problem if it was refundable and I could go carry on my day and find another hotel but they had me sitting for two hours on a call that was not taking my time seriously. After having it sorted out I’m promised the best room in the hotel. Just to get a room that was not even the biggest room there a.k.a. the best room. “The best room”had only one bed and a couch to sleep on. It was ridiculous to have to wait two hours and STILL have the nerve to charge me. 0.5/10
