Everything from the outside seemed fine. A parking lot, a credible looking entry. Then, after checking in, we arrived at our room. Barely enough space between the walls and the door to unlock the door! And then, we were right above a two story canyon below, two feet between buildings. Think Jason Bourne! Inside, the room was spacious, but very dated. Few electrical receptacles. A six inch step up into the bathroom. NO HOT WATER, EVER! Our window looked directly at the building two feet away, with many signs of remodeling that have yet to be completed. NOPE. NO WAY!

I'm very satisfied with my stayed at Hotel Rincon. The evening male receptionist was professional and transparent with the check-in process. The junior suite was clean and the bed mattress was super comfortable, most excellent! When I get back to Chicago, I would like to purchase a mattress just like the one at the hotel. Hot water was made available to me instantly! The hotel zone is nice, safe and quiet. Very nice Rincon! Better yet, Hotel Rincon has affordable accommodations! Thank you for your good service! Annie

I chose the Hotel Rincon Real for the location and because it had a pool/hot tub. Due to construction the pool area was closed. The pool water looked green with algae. The construction was very loud and started early in the morning. Very noisy! We arrived late (nearly midnight). They were closing up the parking area. The young man behind the check in desk seemed unaware of our reservation. I had to show him the confirmation I had printed before he looked again and found it. He led us to our room, which was 2 story with a kitchen and living room on the lower level and a bedroom/bathroom upstairs. We didn't use the downstairs area, though the couches were comfortable. Lugging luggage upstairs (with NO RAILING) was difficult. Beds were quite comfortable, though the room was very stuffy. Only one window. Bathroom setup was odd. I never did figure out the water heater setup. Restaurant was OK. I thought continental breakfast was included in our room, but was mistaken. Prices were reasonable. The waiter spoke no English, and assuming I spoke no Spanish, he simply avoided me. I loved the poster-sized photos of old Durango hanging on the walls. The computers in the lobby area were very old and slow. Only one seemed connected to the internet. When trying to contact a local business, I asked for help from the front desk. They seemed bothered by my request and were not at all helpful. After 2 nights, we needed to check out early to drive to our next destination. The front desk clerk seemed bothered by this request. They also asked for me to bring the 3 remote controls down from the room to check out. Nothing about this had been mentioned before. Overall, it was a decent experience. I really needed some time in a hot tub to relax. Next visit to Durango, I'd pay a bit more for a hotel with better customer service.
