My wife got sick from something she ate. She had a strong reaction. The hotel owner told us that we were not alone. She called a doctor who arrived immediately with medication and resolved the situation. Roberto Duarte, who was at the reception, also helped us a lot. Therefore, we recommend that small hotel for its personal attention at all times.

Hotel del Peregrino was wonderful from the minute we were in contact.
Our flight from Mexico City was cancelled last minute so we missed out on our first night there, but once we arrived the following morning we were warmly welcomed by Roberto. We were given the pick of two rooms, both of which were lovely.
The room had a lovely touch with monogrammed towels and bed covers. We received complimentary water and were also able to fill up as much as we wanted with filtered water.
The shower was lovely and hot and beds were very comfortable.
The courtyard area was delightful and had it not started raining we would have enjoyed the pool. The pop music playing during the afternoon was also lovely to listen and sing along to.
It has a fantastic location, a short walk to a fantastic cafe Tinoc, which was recommended and had delish food and coffee, including coconut milk and dirty chai.
Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we were in Merida.

After an unexpected flight cancellation left us arriving in Mérida more than 12 hours later than planned, we reached the hotel exhausted and more than a little frustrated. Within about 30 seconds of meeting Roberto, however, our mood had completely changed. His warmth and genuine hospitality set the tone for what turned out to be an exceptional stay.
The hotel itself is absolutely charming. Both the rooms and the beautiful grounds are full of character and provide a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city. Its location is ideal, with Plaza Grande and many of Mérida's main attractions, restaurants, and historic sights all within easy walking distance.
While the hotel itself is wonderful, the real highlight is the people who make it so special. Every member of the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. Their kindness and attention to detail made us feel less like guests and more like friends.
There are plenty of lovely places to stay in Mérida, but what truly sets this boutique hotel apart is the genuine care and hospitality shown by everyone there. We left with wonderful memories and would not hesitate to return. If you're looking for a beautiful, authentic place to stay in Mérida with outstanding people at its heart, this is it.
