Hotel Maria Jose

Came as tour. In Central Merida. Lots of space and windows onto hotel courtyard. Comfy beds. Good air con. Free water topped up. Decent bathroom although water was tepid. No coffee making facilities. Breakfast was very average done a la carte

The worst hotel I have stayed in after visiting 35 countries. The most critical note is the cleanliness and the musty smell. As soon as we entered the room we noticed an infinite number of stains on the sheets, blanket and pillows. There was hair everywhere and a strong musty smell. After the first night we kindly asked to clean the room better but we found a worse situation than before, so we decided to change hotel. The staff does not speak English. I don't understand how the hotel has such a high average. The room they assigned us is number 12.

The hotel is very well located, the rooms are summary but clean, the bathroom pleasant. On the other hand breakfast is frugal , chemical orange juice, no tea only coffee or herbal tea. The hotel is really noisy....from 5 AM your night is over.
