Riad Etoile de Mogador

Lack of basic hygiene, dirty sheets, damp room that you can't fit in, seism escaped to another facility.

Sorry, this is my first negative review. I entered the Riad because I wanted to book through Booking but I asked the owner that if she preferred I would book directly from them. He shows me another room, asks me 50€ because the room was no longer three but two beds , we are two so I say ok. She won't leave me the receipt. I thought she would the next day. The room was damp, but for this amount I still think it appropriate. We go out, they come back by 10:30, we open the bed and notice that it was dirty! Yellow spots! The bed was clearly stained, the duvet we don't talk about at all, the pillows also. I am really sorry to leave such a negative review but hygiene is the ABC , and here it was missing. The next morning I went back to the Riyadh to point it out, she asks me to see , okay, let's go up to the room. Answer? The sheets make them clean professionally. He didn't refund me, he didn't apologize, nothing, that would have been enough. Bad service and bad hygiene.

Disappointing and Unsafe Experience at This Riad We had a wonderful time traveling through Morocco, staying in many welcoming and comfortable riads — but unfortunately, our experience at this particular one was disappointing and concerning. Unlike every other riad we visited, we were not offered the traditional mint tea upon arrival, which felt like a telling sign of the hospitality to come. The riad itself, while pretty in the cover photos, was quite uncomfortable in reality. The beds are built on concrete bases with concrete headboards, making for a very hard and unpleasant sleep. As it was January, the riad was chilly so the staff unbelievably used an outdoor patio gas heater on ground floor to warm the space. This was an extremely dangerous practice, as gas heaters can lead to carbon monoxide buildup, which is extremely hazardous. More disturbingly, after raising our safety concerns and making a complaint, we received racist and menacing messages to our personal mobile phone after our departure. This was pretty upsetting, and it overshadowed any positive aspect of our stay. We loved our time in Morocco and were met with kindness and generosity throughout our journey — but sadly, this stay was a negative experience.
