Riad Zelaka

Had yet another stay here, i can't stop coming back! This place is amazing, the guys that run it are fantastic and make sure you have everything you could possibly need, nothing is too much trouble and there is always someone to help you. The rooms are immaculate, incredibly clean, and the whole riad is really kept together and looked after. Breakfast every morning is amazing, fresh fruit from the market daily, oats, omelettes, toast, pretty much whatever you fancy. The roof terrace is awesome, it's an amazing suntrap for a post surf lunch or just a sunbathe and a beer! This place is in the perfect location also, you are right on the medina wall so, literally seconds away from all the exciting bustle of the markets but far enough out that it's incredibly quiet. The guys at explora surf school are amazing too, just minutes away from the riad you can kite, windsurf, or surf. Everyone is so helpful and happy! I always love coming back and seeing everyone and having a laugh with them, they are so heart warming. The equipment in the school is top notch, whether you are kiting or surfing, they have whatever you need and beyond. I have never needed to fly boards. Also if you choose to get in the water, it is a MUST to have a lesson with any of these guys. Between them they have a crazy amount of expierience and even as a competent frequent surfer, i always learn something new with these guys, it's more like surfing with your best mate and having private coaching from a moroccan jon jon florence. I can't explain how amazing this place is and how lovely the people are, Essaouira is the perfect roaring arab cultural spot and the riad is the most perfect quiet boutique hotel in the the town. On top of that, Explora is the best surf centre possibly in the world. Trust me, i've been around it with my board in hand, and this place kills it every time. So amazing! BOOK IT NOW!!!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Perfect location, very friendly owners, nice breakfast at long table during which you chat with other travelers. Rooms are simple but with nice decor. Be prepared for Moroccan type of bathroom ;) Don’t forget to ask the owners about local fish restaurant nearby. Amazing food experience.

Went there with two of my girls. We were treated like royalty ! Staff was kind, the place is extra clean... And the food was excellent ! To top it off, it was very affordable ! Well located. It was our first Riad but it sure won't be our last. There was this great vibe to it. I recommend it !
