Sol E Luna

Staying in a villa in Essaouira and picked up a pizza from this hotel to take away. I've never commented on a pizza house before but this was exceptional. Thin and crispy pizza and a friendly service.

I arrived after a bus ride from Marrakech. The owner met me at the taxi and suggested I got righr back out and have lunch. She offered to get me at the bus but I hadn't given her enough notice. NOT a place for single travelers who enjoy night life or available pizza or warmth or not having your belongings fondled. I returned from a late breakfast to find that the bed had been stripped while I was checking out. My things were on their bare mattress. Not the place for you if you want to eat a meal other than breakfast. The owner and her husband had lunch on the day I left at approximately 2pm but none was offered to me. Smelled good but after watching the dirty cat lounge all over the eating space, I may have dodged a cat hair. Mind you, I have two cats but the kitchen is off limits. I left at 2 because I was told that petit taxis passed by pretty regularly . I waited at least 30 minutes on the side of the road. Stay in the Medina which has a plethora or riads and is better for solo travelers. I hope they fixed that pizza oven. I really wanted some pizza.

Our small group was on a birdwatching trip in Morocco and spent five days in Essaouira. Hotel Sol E Luna was a perfect choice to stay. We returned like home every evening after our day trip. The house has got a nice Moroccan style interior design, very clean. Our room was spacious with a terrace looking to the garden. We gathered there every evening after a tasty three course dinner Mona cooked for us. Emilie and Christophe were very nice and friendly hosts, providing us with valuable local information and made our stay relaxed. We would definitely return. Thank you!
