Les Jardins de Agdal Hotel & Spa

The room we had was quite comfortable and clean. The a/c struggled with the high July temperatures giving us an average of 26°C. The restaurant staff should be retrained to clear and make-up the tables as very often there was nowhere to sit. As a table is vacated it should be cleared, cleaned and remade for the next guest. The food was good and varied although somewhat repetitive. With only one bar open in the evening there was often a queue, and on several occasions a lack of glasses, which meant the drinks were served in plastic cups. The issue of sun beds is well documented but being early risers we had no problem finding them. All in all we would return to this hotel hoping the issues outlined have been addressed.

We got a very cheap week to this hotel so thought why not. The hotel is clean and the decor is very good. Our room was large and looked out on to a walkway so was very quiet. The alcohol was good and you could get drinks from 11am. The food was not to my taste and I ate mainly from the salad bar, apart from our one night in the Italian a la carte. The food in the a la carte was much superior to the main restaurant. You could only go once though which was a shame, unless you paid. You also had to choose between the Moroccan or the Italian. It would have been better if you had been able to try both a la cartes. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The swimming pool area is good, albeit the beds could do with replacing. Most people were in the pool as it was 45 degrees some days and it was large and had decent steps to get into it. I liked the price we paid for this hotel and would book it again if the price was reasonable, but for me the food lets it down.

I really enjoyed everything about the hotel, it's a beautiful setting and has so much potential, except the food wasn't good, don't get me wrong I always found something but it was more an effort to go to meals as you knew it would basically be the same as before, I had a burger from the snack bar which cost 120 mad as not part of AI and was raw inside so on the last day a number of us had Burger King delivered to eat by the pool for half the price! I didn't bother with either of the a la carte restaurants, people got sick from the Moroccan one and there were supplement charges at the Italian, though there was ice cream there! Salim and all the bar staff were great, very friendly and knew your drinks. On the whole what made it for me was the company of other guests either by the pool or after dinner outside the bar, as a solo traveler I was rarely alone and was so happy to chat into the night. I wanted to get my hair cut but the salon is currently closed. If you fly Jet2 (purple band) you automatically get AI plus which includes premium spirits but with Easyjet (yellow band) you don't. I always got a sunbed, though easier when it's just one, I would say it's more to get up early if you want to be near an umbrella for shade.
