We went to the Riad for our first family holiday. It was awful. When we arrived the taxi driver was late and after making several calls came and dropped us off to the middle of nowhere saying he can’t go further. We were then recommended to two men who were supposed to take us to the riad. The journey was roughly 3 minutes and they demanded for us to pay them 150 Dirahms. We reluctantly paid and they then called the hotel manager Soufian. It was a long walk to the hotel. When we got there, there was a lady mopping the floors - the floors were soaked - all our shoes and feet where soaking wet. Soufian told us that all our rooms were not ready yet so we waited. The hotel lounge was dirty, smelt and was a health and safety hazard. My two year old fell and hurt herself due to the wet floors.
When we were shown our rooms we were surprised. The curtains were hanging off, the bedding had hair and stains on it and we were not allowed to keep our keys for our rooms. We were told they had to stay unlocked.
They claim they have wifi but it doesn’t work.
We asked for water and they couldn’t provide us with it. They said they have no glasses.
The hotel was a disaster! I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Our experience was so bad that we moved to a different hotel.
Do not go to this hotel!!!

We spent 7 days at this Riad and were not impressed. On the first day the tour company had organised someone from the Riad to pick us from the taxi point. As no one came, the taxi driver released us to two men who volunteered to take us to the Riad for 2 euros. However once we reached the Riad which was only 3 minutes away they demanded 150 dirhams. The Manager of the Riad, Soufian who had failed to turn up to pick us up seemed to know these men well and I feel this was an elaborate scam to make some money out of tired and unsuspecting tourists like us.He urged us to pay up and we reluctantly paid 100. The day we arrived the temperature was 45 degrees. The air conditioning in our room didn't work and didn't get fixed for 3 days. No even a fan was provided which made the heat unbearable. My daughter and I slept on the Terrace on sun loungers for 3 nights and got badly bitten by mosquitoes.Although our room was adequate though a little tired, the above experiences left us with a bad taste. Will definitely not visit again

We spent 7 nights here and it was okay. 10-15 minute walk to the main jemaa El fna square. The rooms were okay, bit old, need a paint job and a little more maintenance. Our key was useless and took them 3 days to change the lock. The riad always has 1 person there, he even sleeps there, he was useless, smoked cannabis all day and always tried to sell us something. Don't bother getting a transfer from them it's way to expensive and don't bother having dinner their either, you'll pay 3x more than you should.
The riad itself is beautiful and nice chilling out areas. Next time I go to marrakech I will stay in the new city in a riad with a pool. A group of Germans who we became good friends with share the same thoughts and being in the medina is just too much.
When you arrive they will drop you off nearby, make your own way to the riad and refuse any help from anyone, they will ask for money and harass you if you only give them £5 which I thought was to much anyways, especially for a 2 minute walk with two turns. I highly recommend paying a little more for a riad and get the luxury and flexibility. I high recommend riad mabrouk or riad catalina, I wish I went for those instead.
Also do not book excursions with the hotel, they charge way too much, it's just constant robbery.
Marrakech is a great place but so different to the rest of Morocco, there's a lot of begging, poverty and a very fast environment. Look at other destinations such as tangier, Agadir, Rabat or Casablanca. Marrakech for me was great outside of the medina but just too much to handle inside.
