Riad Schanez

We stayed 8 days in Marrakech, we had problems with the agency where we booked, they almost left us on the street the second day, luckily we met Hanane, the person in charge of this Riad, a very close and friendly person at 200 %, I recommend him for his kindness and closeness, a very familiar person and he tries to help you in everything.

The hotel has a good location. It is in a walking distance from the Medina and very close to coffe Clock which has live music and a terrace. This was one of my best experiences and liked the interior, the terrace to get some sun and the breakfast that changes everyday and was very nice. The best part of my stay was meeting Anna with her beautiful and energetic smile. She literally was doing everything there from greeting the guests to managing, cooking, etc. She couldn't be more helpful and explained about the products in Marrakech and prices, places to visit, the culture, etc. My room was clean and comfortable. I definitely give it a five star and recommend it. Thank you Anna and hope to see you again.

I read the reviews about this Riad after I had booked my holiday. It was recommended by lastminute.com. I wish I had changed my mind as I totally sympathise with one lady who said she was turned away. This happened to me! When me and my family arrived at around 10.30pm we we told by the lady that they had cancelled our booking! Me and my family were shocked. The lady had said she had cancelled two weeks ago and then I mentioned that we had not been told. It was a nightmare. She said there was repair work going on and we could not stay there. I was also not happy it was around 39 degrees and it was obvious there was no AC in the lounge area and there was also no swimming pool. It was falsely sold to me by last minute.com but the people who own should also change it on their website as there is no swimming pool. I phoned lastminute.com whilst I was there and they had said they had not received a cancellation notice. The lady who was working there promised me she would send me an email to say she had cancelled and I have not received this yet. They put me on hold for around 30 mins (dreading my phone bill!!!) they turned around and said that the owner has got room. I stated to them it is obvious there is no room as the lady is not ready for us? Me and my family were clearly distressed we were so excited about going on our first holiday together and we were very upset to hear once we got to this Riad 'Sorry you cannot stay here, I have no room for you!"
