Riad Salam Zagora

Even though this hotel seems nice on the surface, it turns to the huge disappointment. Rooms were dirty, everybody was extremely rude, breakfast was inconsumable (we asked waiter several times to bring us clean plates and glasses, but he always just picked it from different table and brought us some that was even dirtier) and on the morning I was forced to pay for the rooms much more, than was agreed on check-in, otherwise receptionist threatened me with calling police... really nightmarish place...

Easy to find, only a 10 minute drive from airport. Friendly staff, wifi ok, comfortable room. Courtyard very nice however was to cold to use the pool! Breakfast was nice and staff were helpful. Nothing over the top but good service.

It's a long trip down southeast in Morocco to get to Zagora and once we did get there our first question was why did we bother. We had our Dune experience to Erg Chebbi from Erfoud the next day so we did not need a desert excursion from here. The hotel was wanting. Admittedly we were there during Ramadon and it was very courteous that they attended to us during their holy month. The key ddidn't work, the boiler degassed every few hours. Granted June is not the best month to visit southern Morocco. But you need a working air condition. We spent a sleepless night with 30 C in the room. The skeletal staff did what they could but don't come in summer (June through August) and check to be sure it is not Ramadon.
