Dar Abdelkarim

I visited this Riad for an overnight stay. My room near the pool was clean and pleasant but the taps in the bathroom needed attention. We called the staff and they fixed what they could but they still dripped constantly. The food was good, the outside dining area very pleasant; same for breakfast. Gardens and trees have been planted and set out with care and thought. But.... It has huge potential but seems to be running down. The entrance needs upgrading and tour guides find it difficult to park and unable to turn around... mine had to back all the way. It is also a fair way out of town but this could be compensated for with a good upgrade to facilities and better management.

This could be a real gem, with its wonderful gardens and two pools, but it isn't maitained at all. We didn't swim because the pools were too dirty, all fountains and part of the garden lighting were out of service, it's a shame. Owner wasn't there, two very friendly staffmembers served a nice dinner and breakfast, but I wouldn't recommend the place until it's been refreshed.

This hotel is far outside of town. The owners were not there when we arrived, only their two young sons (I mean 7 and 9 or 10!), plus the groundskeeper/handyman. Although they said they had Wi-Fi, I think the boys were using up all the bandwidth playing their online games, so we never could get online. The room was full of mosquitoes. The bathroom was poorly situated and equipped. The garden was pleasant and the dinner was good. But I would never stay here again.
