Dar Slama

The house is clean and attractive, the rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms modern and convenient. Wi-fi available in the lobby. Breakfast of juice, coffee & tea, bread & delicious jams was served in a pretty but rather neglected garden. Only a 10 minute walk to the Medina but a very steep climb back and no restaurants or bars within close proximity - so a steep climb to bed at the end of the night.

As soon as we walked through the door, we were delighted by the atmosphere of this lovely riad. Tiles on the walls, different spaces to sit, lounge, work, a bar, windows looking onto the garden... A delight. Our room (the black room - because of the tiles on the floor) was large (bedroom, sitting space) and comfortable. There was a flat screen tv and air conditioning. The bathroom was large with good towels, bathrobes and slippers. On the ground floor is a garden and sitting area which we enjoyed, a dining area where we were served breakfast (frexh orange juice, tea and coffee, fried eggs, breads, jams and honey, local cheese). The staff was delightful. The location is very good for reaching the Médina, the souk and the central area of the old part of the city by foot. Staying here was an excellent experience: we wouldn't hesitate to return.

I stayed at Dar Slama May 13 to May 17, 2012 in the Jade room. Upon arrival I looked at most of the rooms They are well organized with up to date bathrooms (some only with showers), storage spaces and comfortable beds. FYI: Wi-Fi does not reach the rooms on the top floor. The interior is spacious, art deco and with great taste in interior design. The generous spaces inside and out invite you to sit and relax. The breakfast is healthy, though I'd suggest to include some fruits. I had a delicious Moroccans dinner one evening at Dar Slama. It seems like the on-site staff are available 7/24 to cater to your needs for drinks, snacks, food or other services. I benefited from all the drink/food options. As a another example: Assis was kind enough to help me get a taxi at 5 AM upon departure. The location is within 10 minutes walking distance from the Medina. I plan to return.
