Girassol Lichinga

Totally overpriced hotel. Staff don’t care and couldn’t find our booking then didn’t understand it... rooms large but very dark. No running water in showers since arrived. There are other better value places in town that actually have running water, don’t be fooled.

Not bad infrastructure... poor lighting in the room and corridors... but over priced but again not many choices in Lichinga.. restaurant is ok. Food is reasonably good... staff needs more training and quick response

The only positive I have to say about this hotel is that the rooms are really spacious and clean. And given the options in Lichinga it may be the only one. However from that highlight it just downhill: - Receptionist struggles with the most basic functions of checking in people (giving wrong room keys), and when confronted simply laughs at you like its a joke! - Food is terrible - The bar doesn’t have stock - The pool is polluted - People use the yard to dry clothes - It’s 9 degrees celsius at night and rooms don’t have heaters - The corridors are dark and spooky - The tv has 3 public open channels of which you can either not hear, or see 2 of them. It’s actually so bad that much like the receptionist you can only laugh so that you don’t go mad! I cannot imagine what it would be staying here if I did not speak Portuguese.
