Gaun Ghar Hotel

A female-led team gave us a warmth of service that made you feel like a part of their family. The old-world charm of the environs transported me to an Ernest Hemingway novel (but without the bulls and bloodshed!). The food was delicious. The hotel fronts a cobbled mall without cars or motorbikes where children (local and tourists) can safely play. An absolute delight.

The Gaun Ghar is a basic but very charming hotel in the beautiful town of Bandipur. The room was cosy, clean and comfortable. Very good food was served on the outdoor terrace, which overlooks the lovely countryside. All the staff are welcoming, very friendly and helpful. The female staff insisted on carrying our suitcases down the traffic free street! We would highly recommend this charming hotel in Bandipur.

The original flair of the area has definitely been preserved and makes this Herritage hotel a special experience. If you have a problem with small rooms and older beds, you will certainly not like it so much. I, on the other hand, like it a lot. The windows have no windows and face the pedestrian zone. So you can hear the voices and music of the restaurants. But there are shutters to close. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a beautiful terrace with valley views.
