Bastion Maastricht

I've been to Bastion hotels before, and this Bastion is of the same quality as the others. It started with the check in, the gentleman who checked us in, was friendly, and really helpful,when we said that we wanted to book for a second night. The upkeep of the room was surprisingly good, the bathroom looked great. The bed was nice and soft. The nice thing is, that the hotel is near the centre of maastricht, and easy to reach from the train station.

Room and parking were not available at 3pm. At high and low claim that breakfast was not booked extra. Of course it is. After fifteen minutes in the room a couple got the same room and we had unexpected visitors. A group of young men had five rooms on the same floor and were already stirring things up in the late afternoon. Reported to reception but no response. The receptionist couldn't even speak Dutch. The next morning, the cleaning lady knocked on the door at 10:45. Provisional hour was 11am to leave the room. When we left the room 10 minutes later she said this was just in time...this hotel, price...quality...never again. Shame.

We really don't understand where the negative reviews come from.. The staff is friendly, room was clean, beds are lovely and it is within walking distance of the center. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. Would definitely go here again!
