Campanile Venlo

Do not be put off by the exterior. It is an older property, so it is basic and a little worn. It is motel style, with external corridors. There is a metal blind on the window to shut out light and noise. It is in a very quiet, commercial, area. The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless. It looked as though the sanitary fittings and the tiles had all been replaced recently. There were two comfortable “dining room” chairs. No AC, but in late September the fan was sufficient. Rooms on the car-park side face away from the road. We got a good sleep, but I was awoken at 06:50 by another guest moving furniture about - overhead, I think. So a top storey room might be best. It was mid-way on our journey, so it suited for a one-night stopover. We would stay here again.

After a long day of travelling I found a room in this hotel. He was quite the price: € 144,00. When we saw the room we were pretty shocked. Very basic, towards the shabby. Searching the internet, the rooms were offered for € 69.00. But because everything was full, the price was higher, the receptionist explained. He himself found the price disproportionate to the room offered, but could do nothing about it. Definitely a fence.

Stayed for 3 nights with friends while watching the motorsport at nearby Circuit Venray. Don't get me wrong this is not a five star hotel but never the less the rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Had a meal in the restaurant washed down with a couple of beers, good quality at a reasonable price. The Bar and Restaurant were not open on the Sunday but there are eateries nearby. Overall a very good budget Hotel that i have used before and will use again, good value..
