Best Western Hotel De Rustende Jager

Do not ruin your vacation by staying here! I’ve stayed in many Amsterdam hotels, but De Rustende Jager is the absolute worst. First, the location is far (35 minutes to the center). Second, there is a serious lack of safety. Reception closes at 7:30 PM, and after that, there is no receptionist, no night staff, and no security. If an emergency or a fire happens at night, you are completely on your own. During our 2-day group stay, we only saw 3 employees. The facilities are awful. The elevator was always out of order, and the narrow stairs were dirty. The rooms have no AC (in 28°C heat, they only gave us a outdated 1980s-style fan), no mini-fridge, and no mosquito nets. The breakfast was okay, but the staff acts like they hate being there—no smiles, no "good morning." This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel, but it's a joke. Save yourself the trouble and avoid it at all costs!

We have been warmly received. The food was superb as well as the service. The food was adequate and the price is right. The dry white wine, verdejo was delicious.

Very nice hotel in a great location, easily accessible. We slept in a very large triple room, with comfortable beds in a very quiet environment. If I have to find a small flaw, maybe the bathroom was a little small. I really appreciated the possibility of sheltering our bikes in a garage adjacent to the hotel. Very nice and helpful staff.
