Hampshire Golfhotel-Waterland

Friendly staff and nice food specially the breakfast. Old equipment which need to be refurbished but nevertheless the room was clean. Nice view and quite area. Very suitable place for meetings and conferences.

This hotel charges too much for relatively low-quality accommodations. We wondered if the owners are trying to sell the hotel and so have cut back on maintenance. There is no air conditioning. The rooms need paint. The laminated surface was falling off of the coffee table in our room 103. The hotel lacks an exercise room. Breakfast was fine, but seemed smaller than years past. For the same money, we had a very nice room in one of the better hotels in Brussels.

We will stay the night as part of the Ijsselmeer round trip bike tour. The place has an unusual round shape and they gave us room no. 130 on the ground floor which means we had to walk seemingly forever. Beds are dented and I feel every spring. Our room is very large to an extend where it feels empty. I strongly assume there was once a Sofa in here which has been removed. Bathroom appliances, carpet in the hall and our room, curtains are dirty. No lamp/light on the ceiling, which is weird. Ate dinner at the Magnolia Restaurant of the hotel. Food was ok but not much love in it. Very expensive (17€ for an average Burger, 19€ for an asian dish with meat and noodles). Would definitely never return.
