Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw

We stayed here from 10–14 June 2026 and had a great experience overall. The room exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised to find two queen-sized beds, which made the room feel incredibly spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of room for luggage, the bathroom facilities were excellent, and the temperature throughout our stay was just right. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast buffet offered a fantastic selection each morning. The only downside was the attached restaurant, which had a fairly limited menu for lunch and dinner. The location was outstanding. We could easily walk to most attractions, with a tram stop right outside the hotel and a train station just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the city. This hotel caters well to everyone—from younger travellers looking to enjoy the city to older couples wanting a more relaxed stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw...............Please do not look at the pictures, lets start from the beginning: I saw the pictures and reviews, it look good, the only thing is true is the locations, I booked 2 rooms, almost 6 moths before our arrival, and prepaid, I sked them to please make sue our rooms are next to each other, I do not think this will be a unreasonable request, and I called the hotel 2 weeks before we got there, they assured me that the rooms will be next each other, when we got there reception (if you call it that) told us "Not possible" I told him that I was told since I booked early and prepaid you will put us next each other, no luck, anyways he puts us in 2 deferent floors, ....The room are extremely small, and bathroom has a bathtub next to toilet, there is no room to use your laptop, and restaurant is not part of the hotel, you have buy something to use your laptop, this place is a jock................. If you like the location, there OtelSwiss next door the price and the rooms are 100% batter

had a very decent experience, especially the staff were v.good. However this past May 2026 the experience was dreadful. I stayed 3 nights and the coffee/tea stand was never refilled, never. When I finally asked for my room to be made up a guy knocked on the door, then he came back about 10 mins later, placed a couple of towels on a seat just inside the door and left, that is taking the P and is not a room clean. I give it a two only because some of the staff were present and I was allowed to leave my suite case in the hotel on my last day after checkout which was 11am, not the worst. Anyway other than that the experience was less than stellar, oh one thing that bugged me, they has a industrial sized water dispenser in reception, a bottle but not 1 cup in evidence for the 4 days I was there, this screams CHEAP, they have the water but don’t want people using it, I’m already regretting that extra review point.
