Hotel Atlantis Amsterdam

We stayed here for two nights during our family trip to Amsterdam, and I honestly can't recommend this hotel highly enough. The hotel itself was excellent. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and the location was ideal. The tram stop is just a short walk away, making it so easy to explore the city. What really made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Every member of the team we encountered was friendly, welcoming and genuinely happy to help, but two people in particular deserve special recognition: Maaike and Taimoor. Unfortunately, our journey home became incredibly stressful when our Eurostar train was cancelled at very short notice. Travelling with my two teenagers, we suddenly found ourselves trying to work out how to get back to the UK. Maaike and Taimoor were absolutely wonderful. They showed such kindness, patience and genuine compassion at a time when I really needed it. They went above and beyond to help us, offering practical assistance, reassurance and simply making us feel supported during a very difficult situation. It's easy to provide good service when everything is going smoothly, but it's during stressful moments that exceptional hospitality really shines through. Maaike and Taimoor are a real credit to the hotel, and their kindness is something my children and I won't forget. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay such a positive experience despite our travel difficulties. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Amsterdam and would happily stay here again. I had a highly disappointing stay at Hotel Atlantis. There was an ongoing renovation, resulting in continuous, loud drilling and machinery noise throughout the day. The service and room amenities were unacceptable for the price paid: There was no proper bed; it was just a thin cushion thrown over a sofa bed.The hairdryer and the TV were broken. I explicitly requested room cleaning at the front desk, but my room was left completely untouched. The only good things were the location and the breakfast. However, this place is barely better than a hostel. I definitely do not recommend it.

Rating: 1 star Unfortunately, we must advise against booking this hotel. Our room was located directly on the main corridor on the ground floor and was in an unacceptable condition: Health risk: Significant black mold on the window frames. Sanitary deficiencies: Clogged shower drain, cracked sink, holes, and loose tiles in the bathroom. Extreme noise: Starting at 6:30 AM from guests and staff in the hallway, plus a construction site directly in the lobby. Lack of cleanliness: Dirty shower, peeling wallpaper, heavily soiled radiators, cracks in the tiles. We reported the deficiencies immediately to the staff, but no alternative accommodation was offered to us. After just one night, we had to check out for health reasons and book another hotel at short notice.
