Jan Luyken Hotel Amsterdam

A perfect base for our first days as a married couple. The Jan Luyken is a beautiful boutique townhouse tucked in the Museum Quarter, an easy walk to the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Nine Streets. Our room was cool from the summer, quiet, and immaculately kept, and the included breakfast was a lovely way to start each morning before a full day of exploring. We loved the afternoon snacks and help yourself to drinks all evening. We played cards on the back patio and enjoyed the weather. Easy access to train, quick walk to all museums and Vondel Park. Great coffee shops just a few blocks away, also lots of shopping nearby. The staff were genuinely warm from check-in to check-out — nothing was too much trouble. If you want a boutique, residential-feel stay in the best possible location, this is it. We'd return without hesitation.

This hotel was perfect for our needs. A couple of days in Amsterdam with family we needed two rooms in the museum quarter quite last minute. Such a fabulous little hotel with a simple ‘town house’ idea which meant you can use the space as you would home. Help yourself to drinks all day and a meats and cheese board in the afternoons. Very good breakfast. The rooms had big comfy beds and good bed linen. My room had good air con and a large window that opened. My only downside was my bathroom needed an update and on the second day definitely had a sewage aroma. But 5 stars deserved and I would definitely come back felt home from home which suited us perfectly. Just being able to grab a nightcap and chat when we came in made our stay feel lovely and homely.

Ten women. Two nights. Top marks! Good beds. Warm and personal atmosphere. Wonderful courtyard to hang out on. Made the trip much easier that everything was included. Alcohol, coffee, snacks. Located in the middle of everything and yet on a quiet street
