I have been staying at the Swissôtel Amsterdam for more than 18 years, and it has always been my first choice whenever I travel to Amsterdam for business. I don't get the opportunity to stay as often as I used to, but every visit reminds me why I keep coming back.
The staff are consistently exceptional and make every stay feel welcoming and effortless. Rob has been a familiar face throughout the years and always takes great care of me, making me feel genuinely valued as a guest. Steven is an outstanding manager who leads a fantastic team with professionalism and genuine hospitality.
It's rare to find a hotel that delivers such consistently high standards over so many years. I can't recommend Swissôtel Amsterdam highly enough to anyone visiting the city. Thank you to the entire team for always making my stays so enjoyable—keep up the fantastic work!

It is super well located, has a reasonable fitness center and has a restaurant downstairs. Rooms are spacious.
In front of the hotel is a pedestrian zone so taxis/Uber will drop you off on the other side of the street, can be an issue if you arrive by car. Also, the hotel did not have room service available when we needed it, we had to leave to eat outside at 23:30 of a Wednesday (June 10). Our room (507) smelled cigarettes. Not sure from where it came from, maybe we just had bad luck. Other than these issues it is a good hotel.

Location was the best thing about this hotel. The room was small although we paid for a King Size Premium Room, the king size bed was two singles pushed together with 2 mattress topper that didn't fit, the pillow was stained, no pillow protectors on them. There was an awful sewage smell the first night which made it hard to sleep, it was sorted next day after I reported it. Bathroom was tiny with very low toilet and no room to move. Shower was powerful though and toiletries provided were good. Television had 2 channels we could watch and at one point it stopped working and we had to get the manager to see to it. No air in the room, although there was a door with a keyhole but no key, lack of fresh air caused disturbed sleep. Requested the key to open the door but was refused, still don't know why they couldn't let us open the door a touch ad there was no opening windows. Tge curtains were all raggy on the bottom hem and looked terrible, not 4 star accommodation The breakfast was okay if you didn't want anything hot as all cooked food was stone cold, even croissants and choc au pan which should be at least warm! The staff were mainly good at this hotel, especially Sophie on the reception who took note of our complaints and apologised when we checked out. I don't think this hotel was worth the money we paid and wouldn't recommend staying here. As I said location was great but that's the only highlight of staying here. We were 4 nights and quite frankly were glad to leave. Would not stay there again.
