Campanile Hotel & Restaurant Gorinchem

It's more an (American style) motel than a hotel. Reception and restaurant are in a separate building and rooms are in an apartment block. It's a bit tired and dated, but the rooms are very clean. The bed was a bit hard and lumpy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is right next to the motorway. Restaurant is not always staffed, but there's a McDonald's next door. Room is very hot and has no air conditioning. Window can be opened, but you risk getting gnats in. Breakfast is sufficient and fresh.

Recently stayed here for a business trip, great location to the show building which is a 5 minute walk tops from the hotel. The staff at Campanile cant do enough for you and no request is an issue. Very welcoming and accommodating. fantastic 3star.

The only positive about this room was that we were able to bring our dog with us. We stayed here as a stop over for one night. When we arrived the main entrance was closed. It wasn't clear where to go and where to check in. Our room was on the ground floor of a very tired and run down looking block. There were bars on the windows, metal roll down shutters and a heavy curtain. The room was boiling hot but we couldn't have the window and curtain open because everyone could see into the room and there wasn't a fly screen. The room was full of mosquitoes - literally about 50 of them buzzing in one corner of the room. I was covered in bites by the morning. The bathroom was horrible. I felt very unsafe - some strange people wandering around and hanging out drinking on their balcony above us. Never again, absolutely avoid this place.
