Bastion Hotel Leiden Voorschoten

I stayed in the hotel for just over a week. Check in was simple. Receptionists were friendly. Easy to extend my stay. Room was very clean and housekeeping were lovely and always offered to refresh my room regularly. Nice shower, good Wi-Fi, supermarket nearby for supplies. Overall really good. Only thing that could improve is the service is slow sometimes in the evening and only 1 staff doing everything at night.

Cozy and small hotel with dated too small bathroom. Heating in room not to get lower so you get quite hot at night. We slept with window open so noise traffic was annoying until midnight. Breakfast and service were good. Parking limited in places of hotel.

The welcome was friendly, by an English speaking lady from Thailand. We wanted to have a drink in the bar, but this bar lady turned out to be the same as the receptionist and this one was so busy, that after 10 minutes we decided to go to the room. This room was very basic. A large modern television (the old television was still visible on the wallpaper and no effort was made for the opportunity to run a brush over it. Holes in the wall of removed ornaments. Two sagging beds. No mattress protectors and the single sheets made directly over the dirty mattress. Bathroom was of the type hospital. Small, functional and seemingly clean. Around 5:00 in the morning, the fire alarm went off. Something had gone wrong with frying the bacon for breakfast. This alarm sounded for 45 minutes. Didn't sleep a wink after this. No air conditioning. All this for €177, without breakfast.
