Hotel Rotterdam

I booked this property on Booking because it had an affordable price for a family consisting of two adults, two teenagers, and a dog (allowed with a supplement), for one night with breakfast included. The location is good, about a 20-minute walk from the center. Only once we arrived did we realize that it is a hostel and not a hotel. I probably should have informed myself better before booking, even if this aspect is not particularly evident from the property's title. The room was simple and spartan, but overall clean and decent. The breakfast, with typical local products, was good. However, there was no shortage of negative notes. The most important one was the room temperature: it was unbearably hot, practically a sauna. There is no air conditioning, there isn't even a small refrigerator, and the windows are sealed and cannot be opened for safety reasons. This made the stay truly uncomfortable, especially in the summer months. Another negative aspect concerns the parking: there are no free spaces in the vicinity and the property's garage was closed for renovations, forcing us to use the paid parking lots in the area. In conclusion, the property can be a good solution for those looking for an affordable stay without too many expectations. However, during the summer, the lack of air conditioning and the impossibility of opening the windows represent a truly significant limitation.

Well located not far from the station and good value. But checking in is beyond daft. They ready have your information from Booking.com and yet they insist when you arrive to check in on a screen upon arrival. But not just basic details, your address, passport details, departure date, age etc etc. Them their hardware fails. A queue of people behind also cursing such a long winded and unnecessary process. Whatever happened to acknowledging your booking and just pay?

Great hostel with clean spaces. The crowd is very mixed and it can be a bit crowded sometimes, especially if you stay there alone. The location is excellent if you want to quickly get into the center. The ladies at the reception are friendly and helpful.
