Auckland Harbour Oaks

I stayed here in 2019 and enjoyed my stay so thought I would book again on a return visit to Auckland. Unfortunately that was a mistake. The apartment I stayed in was in need of maintenance even though it was clean. The couch had clearly seen better days, light bulbs failed to work on the bedside light, and the curtain had partly come off its tracks in the bedroom. The curtaining generally let a lot of light in during the night as well and the dishwasher looked as though it was extremely well used. Not a happy expereince. Maintenance is badly needed.

Where do I start? Firstly we requested a 2 single & 1 queen bedroom set up. We were allocated a 2 x Queen bedroom apartment. There was no AC apart from a small mobile unit in the Lounge room which had no effect past a 3 metre radius. We shared one dirty fan over the 3 nights we stayed. No ice in the freezer, half filled coffee, tea & sugar allotment. The milk was on it's "Use by" date. The bathroom was tiny & tacky with a broken shower screen so essentially flooded every time you took a shower. The shower gel ran out the first night. There was Civic works happening at 1am in the morning on the Street below (is that even legal?) and worst of all unfriendly & unhelpful service from Staff that it appeared just didn't care! When I checked out I had to ask if we were all good... no "thank you, how was your stay?" just a dismissive nod from a sour faced Receptionist. Massive rip off for what we paid... DON'T book this establishment. we certainly will never go back.

Great hotel, very central. Bars, cafe's and corner shop handy. We had a room on the 37th floor and the harbour and city views were fabulous 👌 Breakfast buffet at the hotel was good.
