Heartland Hotel Auckland Airpo

Last and most expensive hotel I stayed in on my 3 week trip to New Zealand and boy did we save the worst till last! We were greated with the news we’d been upgraded, hooray I hear you shout, the joy was short lived as the room had no air conditioning and the heating it did have a radiator suspended above the bed behind the coving may of worked if it wasn’t for the thermostat controllers buttons being damaged, undoubtably by the countless other people they’ve upgraded to this room. Then at dinner I had the steak and my partner the pork belly, both very nice. However…. having to wait 1.5 hours for it to be delivered to us by a ROBOT which quite frankly was bizarre. The Robot had everyone in the restaurants attention as it did its best impression of a robot hoover bumping into stuff and the 2 member of restaurant staff who were human. In the morning hungry we went down to breakfast a 9 am to give it another go. A second chance if you will. It didn’t get off to a great start. When I asked for the full fat milk to be refilled the waiting staff walked over to where I had fetched the empty jug from and picked up the trim milk jug from next to where the full fat one was originally. He calmly brought it over and poured it on my corn flakes which I didn’t eat. I then tried the hot buffet breakfast which was wiped out and wasn’t replenished so I had the final 2 x hash browns. The only other interaction I had with staff was a 9.55 am when they asked if I would like anything else as breakfast was finishing. When checking out I informed the nice lady at reception, she shrugged and said I’m really sorry about that. A Horrid experience which was a sad end to a nice trip to NZ. Avoid this place !

Hotel was comfortable and staff friendly. However DO NOT use the car park if possible. They charge you $5 a day which appears reasonable however the system doesn't work and you still get parking fines - we got two. So it worked out to be much more expensive. And when you try to challenge the fine, the website they give you is a fake one - 'dangerous website' noted by my security system.

Attended a conference . Staff was professional and lovely . Food was amazing
