Booked in this hotel for three nights at the end of a long trip around New Zealand, staying in a variety of cheaper motels. Decided to splash out for the last three nights of my trip because they had a great offer on the Accor App.
I initially booked a city side Queen room but had an offer to upgrade to a harbour view King room, and it was very affordable. The reviews I read also mentioned that the city side rooms could be quite noisy so I was very happy to be on the 12th floor facing the harbour, this is the highest floor with rooms, as the 13th floor is the restaurant. The view was stunning and it was relatively quiet, although a persistent fire alarm at the train station next door woke me up on my last morning - not the fault of the hotel though!
My room was large, had an iron, coffee maker, kettle, mini fridge and safe. It was very clean and everything appeared to be in good order. There was plenty of hanging and cupboard space. There was a mini bar but I did not use anything from the mini bar - there is a New World Supermarket about 5 minutes walk away for drinks and snacks. The hotel is right in the heart of Auckland between the CBD and the harbour, next to the main station and ferry terminal. And on the second floor of a very modern building across the square from the hotel is an amazing food court!
My bed was super comfortable, I was able to maintain a great room temperature as the air-con /heating was very responsive so I slept very well. The acoustics are not that great as I could hear doors opening and closing in the hallway quite noisily during the night but I was mostly undisturbed, I am just quite a light sleeper.
The bathroom had great new-looking towels and quite a lot of shelving for storage. Quality shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body cream were supplied, very nice smelling. The water pressure in the shower was also excellent. I was a bit surprised that the TV only showed New Zealand Freeview - there were no streaming apps available as there have been in some of the more mid-range motels I have stayed in across New Zealand, as a solo traveller I do like a bit more choice on the TV but I had planned to be out and about for a lot of the time.
I had a great stay at Mövenpick, and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the chocolate hour every day at 3 pm in the hotel restaurant, and the hotel restaurant is excellent too!

We had a great stay at Mövenpick Auckland and would happily stay here again.
The location is excellent—right in the heart of Auckland CBD and next to the Britomart Train Station, making it easy to get around and explore the city. The rooms were clean, tidy, and the beds were very comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep. The staff were lovely as well.
One small issue we experienced was with room maintenance. We left the room at 8am to explore the city and nearby markets, and when we returned at 12:30, the room had not been serviced. As we were tired, we decided to leave it as is.
The only other downside during our stay was the Wi-Fi. The connection was either extremely slow or unavailable for most of our visit, which was disappointing. Improving the Wi-Fi experience would make a significant difference.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and rated it 8/10. With reliable Wi-Fi and more consistent room servicing, this would easily be a 10/10 experience.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel.
The suites are spacious and comfortable.
Upon our arrival, we had a small tray of sweet treats waiting for us - a delight.
The staff is very attentive.
The breakfast consists of fresh, high-quality products in large quantities.
It can happen that late-night noise disturbances disrupt the night.
This does not prevent having an excellent stay at this hotel.
