We stayed 2 nights with Jim and Kathleen Law on their dairy farm. Absolutely wonderful people to stay with. Breakfast was very good and the conversation around the table was wonderful. We arrived late in the afternoon and needed to find some place to eat so Jim suggested that we dine at his sport fishing club in town. It was great. Jim gave us a tour of his farm the next morning and found it to be very interesting. Kathleen even washed some of our clothes for us. Like I said, they are very nice and helpful people.

Really fell in love with Leaburn Farm. Jim and Kath really made me and my daughter feel at home. They were so concerned about our comfort. Breakfast prepared by Jim and Kath was really good. All fresh fruits, most are from their own orchard. Jim was more than please to show us around the farm. He drove us to where the milking of the cows were. Also experienced herding the sheep to its paddock....Wow!!! what an experience for us, city folks. Beautiful and spectacular!!!! Strongly recommend travelers to stay here.

As we keep talking about the pleasure of meeting Kath and Jim I know that their Homestay will be a highlight of our trip. We've stayed in a few smart hotels in NZ but here we had the luxury of stimulating conversation. We'll leave NZ with a better understanding of those farming days from the 1950s. Sitting outside sharing a home-cooked meal with them was a joy. Like those distant relatives who are always a pleasure to see, we'll miss them both - young oldies indeed. Modern NZ has much to offer but it shouldn't forget what the pioneers achieved.
