Crowne Plaza

Crowne Plaza Christchurch had a waste water/sewerage problem in my upper level room with a view. The staff tried to fix it, but failed. The room smelt disgusting at times.

Stayed here for two nights on a business trip. Well appointed room with comfy bed. Great gym with 24 hour access. Competely let down by staff and every interaction with staff was poor. Waited for ages at bar to get served, not all items provided on room service tray, towels taken by housekeeping and not replaced, toiletries not replaced when used, room service losing online order but order turned up late. Just really sloppy. Staff really need to up their game. Hotel good to stay at provided you don’t need any interaction with staff.

There wasn't really anything "wrong" with our stay, but the property was just not particularly memorable. It has an excellent location in easy walking distance to all the sites in Christchurch, so if this is what you are after, you will not be disappointed! (It's what we were after.) The parking situation is confusing at first but we sorted it out. The room was clean but small, and like many hotels, the housekeeping staff was stingy with the coffee, towels, etc. Likely just the hotel rules rather than a personal decision. We'd stay again but only for the location, not the property.
