Three Rivers Lodge

We booked this lodge thinking it would be excellent... However, the room was too small and uncomfortable. Although they don't serve breakfast and there's a refrigerator and microwave in the room, there are no cutlery or plates for us to have breakfast in the room. There are only 2 cups and 2 glasses... The manager said that no hotel or lodge provides this... I think he is very misinformed. The highlight is the wonderful view from the room we stayed in, facing the lake.

I had a reservation at this hotel from March 8th to 10th 2026. On March 3rd, I requested a cancellation because my flight to New Zealand (I was flying Qatar Airways via Doha) had been canceled due to the war, and I had no way to get there. The hotel's response was to immediately charge my credit card for the full amount of the reservation. Five days later, they responded to my request, denying the cancellation. I had to cancel my entire two-week trip to New Zealand, and this is the only hotel that forced me to pay for the reservation despite not being able to travel due to a clear case of force majeure. I will return to New Zealand someday, but I will certainly never stay at the Three Rivers Lodge, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Clearly, their only goal is to make as much money as possible, and customer service is completely irrelevant to them.

We were pleased to be upgraded to a lake view room and the view was indeed spectacular. We arrived at 3 pm and collected the key. The room was clean but the bed was very soft. The parking was challenging and we had a small car. They provided a kettle, 2 cups, 2 nice glasses, milk for tea but no tea bags. There was a kettle with no purpose. The lock on the door wasn’t substantial and looked like it could be opened easily with a crowbar. As there was no safe we didn’t feel comfortable leaving our valuables in the room. We had been told of the noise of the roof but we didn’t realize how it would continue off and on during the whole night disrupting our sleep. For a very expensive room we didn’t get our money’s worth.
