We were met at the quay and travelled in style on the owners boat to the lodge. Alan and Leanne were perfect hosts. They made us so welcome from the start. We had a lovely bedroom that looked out over Marlborough Sound and their beautiful garden.
The intimate lodge meant we could be sociable when we liked but there was plenty of space to relax and read and be on our own. It was beautifully decorated, with lots of books, magazines, a pool table and swimming ( which we did)
There are great walks nearby and we played 9 holes of golf at a nearby course that is maintained by locals and is very special. Alan drove us there and provided us with new clubs. What a treat!
The food at the Lodge is all sourced as locally as possible and we had delicious meals and cake in the afternoon! The chef really enjoys her job and it shows!
It really feels like you’re a very welcome house guest.
My husband and I arrived with bad colds and Leanne made sure we had everything we needed and by the time we left we felt so much better and ready for our ongoing holiday.
This is a place to unwind and feel special. I only wish it was our home! Thank you Alan and Leanne

The perfect way to celebrate a milestone birthday with the family. The location was just beautiful. Allan and Liane, along with Kate and Bells cared for us perfectly and Eve's food was simply to die for. Their knowledge of the area and attention to ensuring we had the perfect stay was 2nd to none. The house, rooms and amenities were of an exceptionally high standard - tasteful without being museum-like, and having Julie on hand for massages was the icing on the cake. All in all, it was a perfect stay (except for the rain on our last day!)

The owner’s communication was extremely helpful, guiding us with all the facts needed to arrive at this hidden gem.
We were spoiled with food tailored to our preferences—the best salmon and focaccia I have ever had.
The sliding door from our room to the front lawn and the water just a few steps away made it feel relaxed and less formal than a typical hotel.
They had everything you needed to make your visit comfortable—bug spray, sunscreen, sun hats, raincoats, games, drinks… and even a slice of the most amazing homemade chocolate cake as an afternoon snack and our favorite type of port as a night cap. Thank you for a warm welcome and memorable stay.
