Wairepo House

We adored Wairepo House. It was hands down the best stay of our trip. Firstly Joyanne and Richard are such amazing hosts. They went out of their way to welcome us and get us comfortable. They embody everything that is wonderful about New Zealand and their home is gorgeous. The house itself is stunning. Beautiful rooms, well appointed. The grounds are gorgeous - Apple trees, swimming pool, orchards. It’s stunning. Breakfasts are hearty and fun. I really enjoyed sitting down and having a delicious breakfast and chatting to Richard and Joyanne about the area and the history of the region and their home. So fascinating. Joyanne helped suggest lovely places for dinner and helped make bookings for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Our stay was fantastic and I felt a little sad to be leaving. Truly brilliant. Wairepo House was such a memorable stay and one of the highlights of my amazing holiday in New Zealand. I can’t recommend it enough.

From Joyanne's greeting when we pulled into the driveway to Richard's good bye when we left, this was such an outstanding stay. What a beautiful spot! Apple trees, flowers, swimming pool, wine in the refrigerator, snacks on the shelf to an absolutely stunning room........everything was outstanding from the beginning to the end. We were only there 2 nights as we traveled all over New Zealand in 3 weeks time, but this stop was a highlight. Cannot recommend enough!

We did enjoy our stay with the family for two nights at this wonderful place with our friendly hosts and by far the best breakfast during our 3 weeks trip through New Zealand. The kids loved the garden and the pool.
