Heritage Gateway

Omarama is on the scenic route. The hotel is in the centre of town close to amenities. The hotel room 99 is in need of refurbishment. The bed was newer. The same with the drapes and the TV. The shower was hot. The heated towel rail heated. The wall heater did not heat. This needs attention. Compared to a modern motel for the same price in Christchurch with kitchenette, cooking utensils, hot plate microwave 50+ Sky Channels and heated tile floor for the same price this hotel room was very expensive. I guess it is on the tourist route to Milford! The staff were friendly.

Buffet food was good. Wait staff great. Bar service poor. Rooms are dated,carpet it disgusting. Doors to rooms chipped paint. Window had to be pushed closed from outside. Toilet leaked all night Bed uncomfortable. Shower over bath hard to get in and out of. Friends bathroom had to be cleaned before they could use it. Big hotel lots of young people the night we were there so wifi struggled. Couldn't upload photo.

Recently spent a night here. Had a lovely spacious room on the ground floor. Nice toiletries. A couple of restaurants nearby. Excellent buffet breakfast. Friendly bar was open for a nightcap
